Our Vision

Forres Community Church is a church plant led by Rev Stuart Finlayson: Community Pioneer Minister with the Church of Scotland and local Christians from various denominational backgrounds.

We are committed to seeking God in the community and joining in where He is already at work.

We hope to see spiritually curious and unchurched families get inspired by the Good News of Jesus Christ and walk with them toward a transformed life with Him at the centre.

We spend most of our time out in the community looking for the folks that God has already prepared for us to meet.  Our mission is to share the gospel with these People of Peace (Luke 10:6) and travel with them into their communities within our community.

We create welcome spaces and seasonal events where we can meet people where they are and invite them to spend more time getting to know each other and Jesus.

We meet for study in small house groups where we nurture encouragement between seekers/not-yet-Christians.  We also host an ecumenical prayer meeting and participate in a larger gathering every other week with another local independent congregation.

Our Mission

“The mission of Forres Community Church is to be a network of ordinary people who follow Jesus and which prioritises disciple-making in our neighborhoods.  We strive to live out our walk with God with authenticity and integrity – allowing the Holy Spirit to fuel our actions and guide our decisions. Our goal is to create safe and welcoming spaces where spiritually curious people can gather to discover the truth contained in the Bible and build a relationship of trust and commitment to God to become active participants in His plan to rescue and restore His creation – working this out individually and in the community.”

Our Beliefs

At Forres Community Church, our core beliefs centre on the Apostles Creed.

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
